Quick Start Guide

1. Installation

  1. Download the ModelPlug Connector extension from the Chrome Web Store
  2. Click "Add to Chrome" to install
  3. Grant the necessary permissions when prompted
  4. Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access

2. Initial Setup

  1. Get your API token from your ModelPlug Dashboard
  2. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar
  3. Enter your API token in the "API Token" field
  4. Click "Save & Validate" to connect

3. Connecting Platforms

  1. Navigate to a supported platform website
  2. Make sure you're logged into your account
  3. Click the extension icon
  4. Select the platform and click "Capture Session"
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

❌ "Invalid API Token" Error

  • Verify your API token is copied correctly (no extra spaces)
  • Check that your token starts with "mp_test_" or "mp_live_"
  • Generate a new API token from your dashboard if needed
  • Ensure you have an active ModelPlug account

❌ "Cannot Reach API" Error

  • Check your internet connection
  • Disable VPN or proxy if you're using one
  • Try refreshing the page and reopening the extension
  • Check if modelplug.com is accessible in your browser

❌ Platform Not Detected

  • Make sure you're on the correct platform website

❌ Session Capture Failed

  • Make sure you're logged into the platform
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies for the platform
  • Disable other extensions that might interfere
  • Try logging out and back into the platform

Data Security

  • Local Storage: Your session data is stored securely in Chrome's local storage

Extension Settings

Managing Your API Token

  • View Status: See connection status for all platforms in the extension popup
  • Reconnect: Click "Capture Session" again to refresh an expired connection
  • Disconnect: Manage platform connections from your ModelPlug dashboard
